Participants will be divided into teams and a briefing will be given by dragon boat professionals where all safety procedures will be explained and all the techniques, such as the synchronization and the drumming. Historically, Chinese drums have been used since the ancient Shang Dynasty (商朝, 1562 BC – 1066 BC) in celebration and in conflict. Canton Fair
Canton Fair is an event known all over the world. It takes place at the China Import and Export Fair, it happens twice a year, during Spring and Autumn. It’s not only the oldest, but also the largest trade fair with the most complete exhibit variety ever made in China. It features more than 25.000 exhibitors and 200.000 buyers!
Canton / Guangzhou Tower
Canton Tower, also known as Guangzhou Tower is a landmark of the city, featuring 112 floors and 600 meters high it is the third-highest TV tower in the world. From the top visitors can be mesmerized by the breathtaking views of the city, and from the outside, they are hypnotized by its lines. Mark Hemel, the man behind its design, was inspired by the female hips, today the tower has a nickname: Xiao Man, a famous geisha in the Tang Dynasty who had a very slender waist.

San Yat-sen Memorial Hall
Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall was built in 2972, is located at Zhongshan Park and it was constructed as a tribute to the founder of modern China, Dr. Sun Yat-sen. This Memorial Hall shows its guests Sun Yat-sen’s accomplishments from the revolution during and after the fall of the Qing Dynasty. Today it is a meeting ground for various social, educational, and cultural activities.
Chen Family Ancestral Temple
Today, this temple serves as Guangdong’s Folk Art Museum where Guangdong’s most characteristic architectural features are shown. Before becoming a museum, Chen Family Ancestral Temple was a place both for offering sacrifices to ancestors and for studies.
Temple of the Six Banyan Trees
The Temple of the Six Banyan Trees has a history that goes back 1400 years and it is considered to be one of the four best Buddhist temples in Guangzhou. The temple has a rich collection of cultural relics and features several buildings for guests to know and get immersed in this beautiful culture.
Xiaozhou Village
Xiazhou Village is an island village located in the south-eastern part of Haizhu district- Guangzhou. The village’s history goes back to the Yan Dynasty and, in the early 90s, master painter Guan Shanyue together with a dozen other prominent artists were attracted by the scenery of the village and moved in. Many more artists followed and the artist community proliferated and galleries mushroomed. Xiaozhou became an artist village.
Masuleum of the Nanyue King
The Mausoleum of the Nayun King is not only the oldest but also the largest Han tomb with the most funerary objects in the Lingnan area. The second King of the Western Han Dynasty is buried 20 meters underground, and his tomb is made up of 750 stones with colorful murals. Get lost at the museum’s halls getting to know over 1000 pieces of cultural relics.
Yuexiu Park
Yuexiu Park is the largest park in downtown Guangzhou. It covers an area of 860.000 sqm and it perfectly combines history with nature. Get to know the Five Rams Sculpture, the Zhenhai Tower, Ming Dynasty City Hall, and the Square Cannon Site.
Baiyun Mountain
Baiyun Mountain has been a famous natural spot in Guangzhou due to its natural beauty. It has 28 sqm and consists of 30 peaks, each one offering beautiful views over different parts of the city or its natural surroundings. The highest peak of Baiyun Mountain reaches 382 meters high, and it is also known as the First Peak under the Southern Sky.

Canton Fair Complex
Formerly known as Guanhzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center, it has a area of 1.131.000 sqm and it was considered Asia’s largest exhibition center up to 2009. Guangzhou Opera House
Guangzhou Opera House enhances its surroundings due to its bold and unique design. The structure was designed by Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid. It is conceived as two rocks washed away by the Pearl River. Today, the Opera House is one of Southern China’s biggest performing center, competing with names such as Beijing’s National Centre for the Performing Arts and Shangai’s Grand Theatre.
