Gu Masters (鼓)

Historically, Chinese drums have been used since the ancient Shang Dynasty (商朝, 1562 BC – 1066 BC) in celebration and in conflict. As a result, they’re often the color red which has long time been associated with power and luck, and accordingly, red drums have been used as a symbol of strength. Click here to watch the video.

Designed by the German architectural firm Gerkan, Marg and Partners, Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center is the largest single structure building in Shenzhen.

Museum of Urban Art & Contemporary Planning

Opened in 2017, this public art space is as impressively monumental from the outside as it is on the inside: a chrome curve that blends two institutions, the Planning Exhibition and the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Design Society

Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning Japanese architect Fumihiko Maki, this design hub – opened in collaboration with London’s Victoria & Albert Museum and China Merchants Group – has galleries, artist studios and a vast public outdoor area.

OCT Loft

OCT Loft is a complex of colorful factory buildings covered in art that host vast art galleries, artist studios, design shops, and a vast public outdoor area. It’s laidback feel make it the ideal place to get a glimpse of the city’s art scene.

Shenzhen Universiade Centre

Built to hold the 2011 Summer Universiade, it opened in July 2011 and holds 60.334 spectators. It has 6 floors, 1 underground and 5 above ground where you’d find several facilities such as rooms for athletes and sports officials, rooms for media workers, shops, cafes, restrooms, VIP areas, boxes and spectator stands.

Shenzhen Concert Hall

Shenzhen’s concert Hall is one of the city’s most important landmarks. Designed by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki, this concert hall opened in 2007 and seats 1800 people.

Shekou i-Factory

i-FACTORY is a cultural creative park located in the port of Shekou, built on a former industrial site. It retains the industrial vibes by maintaining massive concrete silos, chimneys, a machine hall, and so on. This venue is definitely a favorite for hosting all-scale events from film shoots to live music to hosting the first-ever Shenzhen Design Week.


Shenzhen F518 Idea Land is located in the central area of Bao’an.
